Hi, I'm Onoufrios Dovletis. I'm an Official Tour Guide licensed by the Greek Ministry of Tourism. Keep in mind that only official guides are allowed to give tours. You can recognize us by the blue badge that we are required to wear.
My name Onoufrios in Greek: Ὀνούφριος, come from Ancient Egyptian: Wnn-nfr meaning "he-who-is-continuingly-good". Venerated as Saint Onuphrius. The name appears variously as Onouphrius, Onofrius, and in different languages as Humphrey in English, Onofre in Portuguese or Spanish and Onofrio in Italian.
A native Greek, I was born in 1985 in Thessaloniki, Macedonia, Northern Greece. Not to be confused with the Slavic country that is wrongfully using the name Macedonia.
Athens has been my home since 1995 and what place could be better to study History and Archaeology. As a student, I had the chance to do my homework in the peaceful Agora and take part in excavations in the city of philosophy and democracy. I love etymology so during my tours you will see that it is “all Greek” to you!
My interest in languages also led me to extensive Translation Studies (Athens) including a Master's in Audiovisual Translation (Parma, Rome). Overall I’ve studied Modern Greek, Ancient Greek, Latin, English, Italian, Spanish, German, French, Turkish and Russian.
I have a great passion for writing and acting so I’ve also taken Writing and Acting classes (Athens, London). My wish is to publish my short stories and poems, and even act in movies!

Onoufrios was an amazing guide. He is very knowledgeable with his subject, generous with his time and also has a great sense of humour. Some tour guides can be too uptight, serious and sterile, but Onoufrious brings a great balance in his approach and made the whole day fun.
